While this domain is still held by those in the academy, it is dormant. When first launched in 2005, it persisted in ostensible use until 2011, the “sleeping giant”, Japanese would say. Mature scholars realize the pettiness, and fruitlessness of it all in the absence of civility, patience, charity, good humor, and benefit-of-the-doubt we constantly owe to our superiors and elders.
